so, here’s the thing!

This piece started it all and serves as a reminder. Our first work printed on canvas now proudly hangs on the wall of our studio.

For years I tried a number of things. Historian, editor, web and graphic designer. But nothing really seemed to fit. Work became harder and daydreaming an ever increasing part of the daily routine.

I took to doodling — if it can be called that on the computer. As fate would have it, my wife (an artist in her own right) walked past, glanced at what I was doing and said, “Wow, you should do something with that.”

And that is how wall ABSTRACTS was born.

Being somewhat reserved and unwilling to risk exposing my creative side to potential criticism, I began creating original digital works of art in the safety of my own home. My family said they liked what I was doing. But hey — that's my family.  After all, what were they going to say?  They are well aware of my sensitivities.

So, my son took it upon himself (unbeknownst to me) to post one of my works on Facebook and encouraged others to respond.  Shockingly, the response was rather positive and resulted in my first commission.

So here we are.  After all is said and done, sales or no sales, I have found something I actually enjoy doing.  I really like what I do.

I hope you do, too.
